Publishing Ethics

  • Responsibilities of Authors

If you submit your work to LLT, you testify that your work is original research and it has not been previously published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere.
It must be clearly specified if the article has been written in collaboration with other people. Authorship should be limited to the person who has made a major contribution to the development of the work, and all persons making significant contributions should be included as co-authors.
Authors must identify all sources used in the work by citing them properly according to the copyright and publication guidelines. When reproducing any material from different sources such as texts, figures, images or tables, authors are responsible for obtaining permission and must cite the materials’ origin properly.

  • Responsibilities of Editors

Editors will ensure a timely evaluation of the suitability of the submitted work papers on the basis of their academic merit; whether they meet the aims and scope of the journal; and originality of the work.
The editors will not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers or potential reviewers, or other members of the editorial board, as appropriate.

  • Responsibilities of Reviewers

Manuscripts received for review will be treated as confidential documents and not shown or discussed with others without authorization from the editors. Reviewers should send the review report in the stipulated period, stating whether they recommend a paper to be accepted, revised or rejected. If they feel they are not in a position to undertake the review, they should decline to do so as soon as possible.
Reviewers should identify relevant publications not cited by the authors, and point out substantial similarity with previously published works of which they have knowledge. They should also keep in mind all conflicts of interest. Appropriate action will be taken in the cases of proven misconduct, plagiarism or fraudulent publication.

  • Peer Review Process

LLT aspires to represent the best in articulating the theory and practice of language teaching. All the content is first sent to the editors, they judge if the article warrants more attention or not based on the articles’ relevance to the readers and whether the author has followed the journal’s guidelines or not. The paper is then sent to two peer reviewers for a thorough review and is then sent back to the author for modifications based on the recommendations of the reviewers, if any. Then the selected papers go to the Chief Editor/Guest Editor for final confirmation.
